HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

So, Preston wasn't loving his costume but we think he looks pretty cute. I could not get that kid to crack a smile or even look at me! He's in a weird mood today.
Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!

The adventures begin...

So, Preston has become very curious about what's "down there". Everytime I change his diaper his hand ventures down below. Well, today I thought I would be smart and give him a toy to occupy his hands while changing a very messy diaper. You can only imagine where this story is going...yep! As soon as the diaper opens the toy drops and he grabs a fistfull of poop! One of my hands was holding his legs one holding the diaper. I grabbed his hand and said NO! He was so upset with the tone of my voice he started to cry. But, I wanted to get my point across. So, as I was trying to clean him up he proceeds to wipe it all over his tummy. I was trying to hold his hand so it wouldn't get to his mouth where he was trying to put it and hold his legs and wipe him all at the same time. I did everything I could to keep his hand to getting to his mouth so I had to pay the consequences elsewhere. Luckily, I had the bath tub filling up while all this was happening. He was getting ready for a bath anyway. So far it's been a great day!

Preston has the funniest laugh! This was taken a while back but it's the only time we've been able to catch it on camera! It's soooo cute!

The sleeping picture of Preston was taken yesterday. He loves to sleep in his swing!

The other pic has become one of my favorites. He always makes that cute face with his tongue stickin out.

Christmas

Brad and I have been getting excited for Christmas to come! I know it's not even Halloween yet! I just started making Preston a stocking. Wished I could've done that last year but as most of you know, he came a little sooner than expected! We didn't think he would be here for Christmas. Christmas becomes a little more exciting when you have kids. We're both pretty excited to buy presents for Preston!! He loves paper too so it'll be fun to watch him play. We'll probably get more out of it than he will. Ha ha.
I'll move back to Halloween. Preston is going to be a little red bird. I made his costume and I think it turned out pretty good for a first attempt. I'll post a picture on Halloween. We tried it on him yesterday and he kept trying to rub his face and all he got was a mouth full of feathers. We thought it was pretty funny, but he didn't!!
Preston is eating cereal now, well he has been for a while. For a long time all I could get him to eat was bananas mixed in with the cereal. He now like peaches, pears and applesauce. I can't quite get him to like any of his green veggies! He's just like his Dad. I love most veggies but Brad won't touch most of them. He likes corn and carrots. I guess it's good that he at least likes a couple of them but he won't eat anything green except for lettuce. Maybe a green pepper now and again.

A rainy day

Preston got his first cold ever! Poor guy! It's so sad to hear his little nose all stuffy and his little cough. He loves the boogar sucker! Ha ha ha. He screams his head off. It makes me feel like I'm the meanest mom in the world!!! I wish I could explain to him that it's for his own good!
Brad and I were touched by President Eyring's talk during conference and how well he kept a journal because he knew his kids would need it someday. So, we are both trying to keep better records. I opted for the blog instead of writing in an official journal. Then I will just print it out and keep it in a binder. That was so nice about Carepages. I have a huge binder of all the posts we put and the messages all of you wrote to us and him.
I have thought a lot lately about him and how special he really is. He has such a sweet little spirit. He smiles at everyone...he absolutely loves people. I'm getting teary just writing this. He is such a blessing in our lives. I know Heavenly Father wanted him here with us so badly. He must have something to do here on earth! I look back on all he has been through and I just can't believe all he has endured. He is such a little trooper! I am so grateful he was born when he was and that there are people that know how to take care of him.
We went back to the NICU for a visit last night and maybe that's why I'm thinking so much about it. Everyone that came out to see him was so surprised he wasn't on oxygen, that he was sitting up, no monitors etc. So many people have said they have never seen a 24 weeker do so well! We feel so blessed for that!
Brad is working on a personal statement for his med school applications. Then he can get those applications in very soon. Then we should know where we're going probably in the next few months. We shall see...

Welcome to our world

Well, I have friends that do this blogging thing and I think we're going to do this instead of Carepages now!
We are all doing well. Brad is busy with school. I'm just being a mom, RS President and Photographer. It seems to be working out so far! Ha ha.
Preston is getting big. He's 24 inches long now, which is double his length from when he was born. He weighs 12 lbs 12 oz.
He HAD a helmet. They had to make him a new one because they couldn't get the last one to fit right. He looks so cute in it. Of course, he looks cute no matter what!
He is sitting up all by himself now! It's really cute. He gets so excited and flaps his arms all over the place.
