My beautiful children

These are the pics I got taken of my kids last week. I am so happy with them. It's hard to shoot a toddler, that's for sure but he was pretty good and I love the way they turned out. The one of Preston with his blankie is the one I got of Preston for our mantle...it totally captures his cute little personality. If any of you know him you know he LOVES he blankie. He lays on it and hugs it and says "ki ki" which translates into "blankie". I love my kiddos! Aren't they so cute?

I copied and pasted these from their website...so yeah, it's got zazzle written on them but you get the idea. I just had to share them because they turned out so precious. Sorry about all the blog posts! I've been wanting to do this for a while and just haven't had much time. So, I'm getting caught up!

Cheese!

This is Preston's new word...CHEESE! I finally got it on camera!!

Nursery

This is Preston after church on Sunday. His face is a mess from his church snacks and he looks pretty tired, doesn't he?

So, I have a little bit of a struggle lately...Preston is old enough to go to nursery but my struggle is he's SOOOO much smaller than everyone there and can't do things that some of them can. For instance, he hasn't learned to sit in a chair like they do at snack time or color. He just wants to eat the crayons. Or drink out of a regular cup by himself. I took him a couple weeks ago and I walked away for one second and he had fallen out of his chair and the chair had falled on top of him. They were doing bubbles with this big bubble machine and all the kids were running around popping them and Preston totally got trampled. He eats slower than the other kids and when they're done they want Preston's fruit snacks. It just seems to be a big struggle for me to take him when these things are happening. I know they may seem like small things but I just don't think he's ready for nursery. On the other hand he will not sit through Sunday school. We end up in the hall anyway. What to do...

Quiet night

Today was a good day. Preston, Hannah and I spent the day with my brother, Sam and his wife Piper. They came to Vegas for their one year anniversary. Today is also Sam's birthday! Happy Birthday Sam! We went to the mall and shopped. I got Hannah's picture taken (again). I didn't like the first set I got at JCPenney so I tried and new place called Picture People. They did I much better job. I hadn't planned on getting her picture taken but they gave me a coupon for a free 10x13 so i just did some naked pics and they turned out really cute. I'm excited about them. I told her I appreciated the coupon because my husband is in med school and we can't afford much. With the first set I didn't get a big one because I didn't really like one so it worked out good to get a FREE big one that I liked. Anyway, I think she felt bad for me and gave me 4 more coupons for a free 10x13 so I'm going to take Preston back because I didn't order any of his from the last photo shoot. They've got my business for sure!!! Maybe I should drop the "husband in med school" card more often! Ha ha. Brad then joined us for dinner with Sam and Piper for Sam's birthday. We went to Panera's. They've got some good bread! Mmmmm. Then we came home around 5 and I put Preston down for a nap. Well, it's 10:45 p.m. and he never woke up! I had to go check on him to make sure he was ok and he was. I must've worn the poor guy out!! It's been such a quiet night. It's kinda weird. We kinda missed him!

Melt in your mouth, not in your hand

I got Preston a treat today for being so good at the store...

What was I thinking???

Getting caught up

I love dressing Hannah up, if you can't tell. This is one of my new favorite outfits! She looks like a little doll in it. Thanks to my friend, Lindsay for the outfit! She's giving a shout out to everyone!

Cute little sleepy face!

When Hannah's hair dries after her bath it just sticks straight up! It's so soft. I love to rub my face on her head!

Hannah's sweet new do!!

Preston LOVES to eat all by himself with his spoon. Especially when it's Cheerios!

Are my kids cute or what???

So, now that that is out of the way...I just have to say I'm LONGING for a new wardrobe!!! I hate my clothes (well, the ones I can fit into!) Wish I could wear those "skinny pants" that have been sitting in my closet for a long time. Just hoping I'll wear them again someday.

Exercise

How the heck do women lose weight after they have a baby when they have 2 kids to take care of and no stinkin' time???? I'm open to suggestions. I'm going to TRY to get up and exercise while Brad is getting ready for school but I am so tired from Hannah being up at night. We'll see how it goes.

Best Peach Cobbler EVER!

I had a request for this recipe from my sister in law, Charity. It really is the best peach cobbler. It's my Grandma's recipe. I think you all should try it!

busy day

I had lunch with my sis in law, Charity! It was fun to have some girl time without my kids (Grandma Clark babysat) but I'm always so happy to see them again! I honestly dont' spend time away from them very often because I just can't get enough of them! I love being a mom so much! I'm getting anxious to get back home and see Brad. I just babble on when I talk to him because I'm so excited to hear his voice!! I feel like I have to tell him every detail of the day. I also visited with my other sis in law, Devery. I love talking to my "sisters" because I never had a sister growing up and it's just fun! Her little girl, Brynnly just lights up the room with her cute smile. It's always fun to see her too.
I did a little shopping with my mom and by the time we got home Preston was so ready to run! I just let him loose! He's starting to say words now (at least we're pretty sure) He brought me the goldfish crackers and I said "Can you say please" and he said "eeee". Pretty much sounded like please. He also has said "Mickey". My parents have a Mickey Mouse stuffed animal that he just loves! He hugs it and carries it around. I asked him if he wanted to get dressed yesterday and he said "yep". Later I asked him if he wanted juice and he said "yes". He certainly has his own little way of telling us what he wants whether it be a tantrum or pointing.
This picture was funny. He got ahold of my dad's coke can and kept drinking (there wasn't any in there) and saying "ah".

Locks of Love

So...today I did it...I chopped it all off!! Well, not ALL of it but I had enough to donate to Locks of Love and I'm so happy with it. It feels so good to have donated AND really like the cut. If any of you know Brad...he's not a short hair person but he'll love me just the same...i hope.

Day at the zoo

So, I have been wanting to take Preston to the zoo for a long time. It's just been way too hot in Nevada so my mom and I took him here in Utah. He seemed to have a good time. He kept pointing at the elephants and rhinos. He giggled at the bears and really liked the train. He wasn't too sure about the carousel. In fact he practically jumped off into my arms after it started moving. Hannah missed most of the zoo...she was kinda sleepy:)Notice that in these pictures, Preson isn't wearing his glasses in most of them...he threw them and we didn't notice. I back tracked and didn't think I was going to find them, but, I did. Thank goodness! I didn't want to lose them so I put them away while we were at the zoo. It was a fun day. Preston was pretty tuckered. Pretty sad face he's got huh? We miss you Daddy!

Bummer

So today I really wanted to go to my old ward. In fact, I came on Saturday instead of Monday just so I could go. I didn't tell anyone that I was going to go. I guess I should've talked to somebody because I got there and it was stake conference. Our ward starts at two so by then there was no place to go!!!! I was so sad. I really wanted to see our friends from the ward! I'm going to try to go to their enrichment on Tuesday and hopefully see our friends then. I was hoping to see our bishop and everyone! Darn.
I spent the day with the Clark family. It was fun to see everyone and introduce Hannah. Preston was so cute with his cousin Brynnly. They are the same size and they're nine months apart! Preston is such a peanut. They both recently started walking and we think they are going to be partners in crime.
Missing Brad more and more!

Missing husband and Daddy!!

I'm in Utah now. The trip wasn't too bad. Better than expected with two babies. I only had to make two stops. I couldn't have done it without Brad's mom. I would've had to unpack the car to get the double stroller everytime I had to go to the bathroom. It was much easier taking turns with someone else. Not to mention, she kept Preston fed and entertained. Thanks Mom!
We are missing Brad so much. In fact, I can't sleep. Never slept without him really. It's pretty weird. Being in my old room has brought back feelings of when we were engaged and I had to leave him every night and go home as much as I wanted to stay with him. I would actually cry even though I knew I would see him the next day. I've got that "new love" kind of feeling right now and my heart is aching to see him. I'm sure I'll be fine but gosh I miss him. I know Preston and Hannah miss their Daddy too. We would just be too much of a distraction if we were home.
It is great to see family though. Preston loves seeing his grandparents. They just spoil him like crazy and love to play with him. They always have new toys for him to play with.
I love you Brad! I'm so proud of you and all you're doing to make a good living for us someday! Don't wear yourself out and get some rest!

we love our familes!

We have such great moms! Brad's mom has been here since Tuesday and is such a great help. Our moms just love to spoil our kids!! AND us!
Brad's mom is driving to Utah with the kids and I tomorrow morning. I will be there until next Friday. Brad will be taking exams all next week and he thought it would be best if we weren't here because he wouldn't be able to spend any time with us. Then, my mom is driving back with me and spending another week with us. It's so nice to have their company when Brad isn't around!! I don't know what I'd do without my great mothers!!!
I meant to post this a couple days ago but the other day I was doing dishes and I kept hearing this high pitched sound. I look over and Preston is just wandering around in his own little world and he was whistling!! It was so crazy! I couldn't figure out how he knew how to do that! I tried to get it on camera but he stopped. He's done it a few times after that and it's so cute! He's doing some funny things these days.
Wish Brad luck on his exams next week! I think he's a little stressed about it!

MEMORIES

Memories...I hope you will play along.
Here are the directions:
1. Add a comment on my blog and leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot just do anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments!

copycat

Preston has started doing the funniest thing. You know how people take a drink and take a breath and go "ah" afterwards. Preston's little friend, Hayden, does that when he drinks and eats and Preston spent a couple hours with him yesterday and now he does this. So funny. Make sure the music is off so you can hear it because it's really quiet.

Brad's mom is here visiting and it's been fun to have her. She made Hannah's blessing dress and it's turned out so beautiful!! I just love it and I'm glad we have that kind of talent in our family!
