Expecting!!!

Yep! That's right! We are expecting again!!! We are so excited and I really hope it's a girl!! But, we all know I'd be happy with whatever the Lord wants! I just love being a mom and I just can't wait to have this one! But, I got a ways to go! Agh! Let's just hope this one goes full term!! None of this 24 week stuff!

Christmas

Preston had a great Christmas! He wasn't too sure about Santa but he didn't cry. Santa always comes to Grandma and Grandpa Clarks house on Christmas Eve! Grandma and Grandpa Wang gave Preston his first $50 bill!! He wasn't really sure what to do with it so like everything else....it went in the mouth!

He's discovered his bottom lip! He always sucks on it! It's way cute!

Christmas means...

It's 1:39 a.m. Christmas Eve Morning. I just had to write down some of my feelings. I have been SOOOOO blessed this Christmas. I have had the privilege to be the Relief Society President at the best time of the year. I've done the giving tree and delivered gifts to families in need. We even had Santa visit them. I stood at the sidewalk and cried as I heard the kids yell "Santa!" when they saw who was at the door. THAT'S what Christmas is all about.
Today the Bishop told me there was another family in need. He said they had nothing. At the end of Sacrament meeting he announced that if anyone had anything they could donate to talk to me or him and we would put it to good use. MUCH to my surprise we collected nearly $900 plus gift certificates to various places! It was Sunday and I couldn't go shopping but I stayed up until midnight and bolted out the door, I was SO excited!! These kids are going to have a great Christmas and so am I. I've learned so much about charity this year. My heart is so full this Christmas season knowing I had a small part in making Christmas wonderful for somebody else. I am so happy for the opportunity!!!!!

Just a few cute pics

First Birthday Party

Well, we celebrated Preston's first birthday yesterday. The picture tells all!! His birthday is on the 19th. One year! So hard to believe. He's come so far and surprises everyone who knows him! It was fun to have both families together for the occasion. We also had one of Preston's primary care nurses from the hospital attend. We loved Shelly and appreciate the work that she does. She saved Preston's life once. His IV was mixed wrong and she caught it and prevented most of the fluid from going into his body.

Kisses from Mommy and Daddy. He looks thrilled, doesn't he?

Preston had a good time in the snow last weekend. My mom says he looks like a little seal flopping around in the snow. He really didn't know what to do with himself.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have many many things to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. Mostly the gospel and the knowledge of Eternal familes. Our lesson in Relief Society was on gratitude. Made me appreciate a lot more. I'm so glad our Father in Heaven gives us trials. I feel like Preston being born so early was a blessing in our lives. It made Brad and I closer. Made us closer to our families and to many friends that supported us through carepages. And of course it made us appreciate our little boy so much more.
Preston enjoyed his first Thanksgiving. He wasn't sure what to do with that big turkey leg but my parents have one of me when I was this age holding a big fat turkey leg and my mom thought it would be cute to get one with Preston. Well...it was too heavy for him to hold! So, we just sat it in front of him.
Preston has been pretty cranky lately. I think he might be teething. He was sleeping through the night and now he gets up a lot and cries a lot. I just don't see anything coming through or any other signs of teeth coming in. I just wish there was something I could do to make the little guy happy. He used to be so smiley! He still is but he just cries a lot!! We go see our pediatrician this week so I'll ask him.
Preston also picks up his new helmet this week. We just couldn't get the last one to fit right so he's getting a different one from a new place.
We got him up early on the day after Thanksgiving and took him shopping. Brad just couldn't pass up the deals on all those DVDs! Of course we got gifts as well. That was fun but we were tired after getting up at 4:15 AM!! Brad is sure it was worth every minute of lost sleep.

Fall

Preston is growing up so fast! I can hardly believe he's going to be one next month!! WOWEE! He's going to have a pretty fun birthday party!

He's figuring out that he can put one foot in front of the other. He loves to walk around with me. I think it'll be a while before he really walks on his own, however. He's little feet are just so small. I don't know, he might surprise us.
I tried so hard to get him to smile here. I had toys out there and was making all kinds of funny noises. Then, a neighbor walks by and he looks up and smiles! What a stinker! Just having fun in the leaves.
Oh and this is his helmet! He's had a flat head for a while so we opted to go for the helmet to help him out. It's helping a lot. His head is getting lots better. It's a little frustrating to get the helmet to fit right. It just keeps falling down into his eyes. We're going back today to see what they can do to help it. He got up 3 times last night and wouldn't eat. He was just frustrated with the helmet being in his eyes and I was sure frustrated myself having to get up! I'm so tired today!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

So, Preston wasn't loving his costume but we think he looks pretty cute. I could not get that kid to crack a smile or even look at me! He's in a weird mood today.
Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!

The adventures begin...

So, Preston has become very curious about what's "down there". Everytime I change his diaper his hand ventures down below. Well, today I thought I would be smart and give him a toy to occupy his hands while changing a very messy diaper. You can only imagine where this story is going...yep! As soon as the diaper opens the toy drops and he grabs a fistfull of poop! One of my hands was holding his legs one holding the diaper. I grabbed his hand and said NO! He was so upset with the tone of my voice he started to cry. But, I wanted to get my point across. So, as I was trying to clean him up he proceeds to wipe it all over his tummy. I was trying to hold his hand so it wouldn't get to his mouth where he was trying to put it and hold his legs and wipe him all at the same time. I did everything I could to keep his hand to getting to his mouth so I had to pay the consequences elsewhere. Luckily, I had the bath tub filling up while all this was happening. He was getting ready for a bath anyway. So far it's been a great day!

Preston has the funniest laugh! This was taken a while back but it's the only time we've been able to catch it on camera! It's soooo cute!

The sleeping picture of Preston was taken yesterday. He loves to sleep in his swing!

The other pic has become one of my favorites. He always makes that cute face with his tongue stickin out.

Christmas

Brad and I have been getting excited for Christmas to come! I know it's not even Halloween yet! I just started making Preston a stocking. Wished I could've done that last year but as most of you know, he came a little sooner than expected! We didn't think he would be here for Christmas. Christmas becomes a little more exciting when you have kids. We're both pretty excited to buy presents for Preston!! He loves paper too so it'll be fun to watch him play. We'll probably get more out of it than he will. Ha ha.
I'll move back to Halloween. Preston is going to be a little red bird. I made his costume and I think it turned out pretty good for a first attempt. I'll post a picture on Halloween. We tried it on him yesterday and he kept trying to rub his face and all he got was a mouth full of feathers. We thought it was pretty funny, but he didn't!!
Preston is eating cereal now, well he has been for a while. For a long time all I could get him to eat was bananas mixed in with the cereal. He now like peaches, pears and applesauce. I can't quite get him to like any of his green veggies! He's just like his Dad. I love most veggies but Brad won't touch most of them. He likes corn and carrots. I guess it's good that he at least likes a couple of them but he won't eat anything green except for lettuce. Maybe a green pepper now and again.

A rainy day

Preston got his first cold ever! Poor guy! It's so sad to hear his little nose all stuffy and his little cough. He loves the boogar sucker! Ha ha ha. He screams his head off. It makes me feel like I'm the meanest mom in the world!!! I wish I could explain to him that it's for his own good!
Brad and I were touched by President Eyring's talk during conference and how well he kept a journal because he knew his kids would need it someday. So, we are both trying to keep better records. I opted for the blog instead of writing in an official journal. Then I will just print it out and keep it in a binder. That was so nice about Carepages. I have a huge binder of all the posts we put and the messages all of you wrote to us and him.
I have thought a lot lately about him and how special he really is. He has such a sweet little spirit. He smiles at everyone...he absolutely loves people. I'm getting teary just writing this. He is such a blessing in our lives. I know Heavenly Father wanted him here with us so badly. He must have something to do here on earth! I look back on all he has been through and I just can't believe all he has endured. He is such a little trooper! I am so grateful he was born when he was and that there are people that know how to take care of him.
We went back to the NICU for a visit last night and maybe that's why I'm thinking so much about it. Everyone that came out to see him was so surprised he wasn't on oxygen, that he was sitting up, no monitors etc. So many people have said they have never seen a 24 weeker do so well! We feel so blessed for that!
Brad is working on a personal statement for his med school applications. Then he can get those applications in very soon. Then we should know where we're going probably in the next few months. We shall see...

Welcome to our world

Well, I have friends that do this blogging thing and I think we're going to do this instead of Carepages now!
We are all doing well. Brad is busy with school. I'm just being a mom, RS President and Photographer. It seems to be working out so far! Ha ha.
Preston is getting big. He's 24 inches long now, which is double his length from when he was born. He weighs 12 lbs 12 oz.
He HAD a helmet. They had to make him a new one because they couldn't get the last one to fit right. He looks so cute in it. Of course, he looks cute no matter what!
He is sitting up all by himself now! It's really cute. He gets so excited and flaps his arms all over the place.
